Pretty cool Photoshop shortcut tip

Posted by Hyun on February 28th, 2007

I discovered this awesome Photoshop shortcut trick totally by accident in which you can select, jump to layers or move layers up/down of your layers using only keyboard without using your mouse or a Wacom pen. For us power users, anything that helps us gets the job done a little faster is a plus! So let's get started.

Move selected highlight upwards in the layer palate - OPTION + ]
(Note: ignores layers with the eye icon off)

Move selected highlight downwards in the layer palate - OPTION + [
(Note: ignores layers with the eye icon off)

Multiple select and highlight layers upwards in the layer palate - OPTION + SHIFT + ]
(Note: ignores layers with the eye icon off)

Multiple select and highlight layers downwards in the layer palate - OPTION + SHIFT + ]
(Note: ignores layers with the eye icon off)

Physically move a layer upwards increment of one layer in the layer palate - CMD + ]
(Note: ignores layers with the eye icon off)

Physically move a layer downwards increment of one layer in the layer palate - CMD + [
(Note: ignores layers with the eye icon off)

Physically move a layer upwards to the very top of the layer palate - CMD + SHIFT + ]
Note: ignores layers with the eye icon off)

Physically move a layer downward the very bottom of the layer palate - CMD + SHIFT + [
(Note: ignores layers with the eye icon off)

Just play around with these key commands and I hope you find it useful.
